James Ritchie, a New Zealander, is the Assistant General Secretary, International Union of Food Workers (IUF) based in Geneva, Switzerland.

His responsibilities include leadership of the meat, dairy and industrial catering sectors in the IUF.

In a previous role James was the National Secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Workers Union and has served on the governing body of the Waikato District Health Board in his home country.
