Alexander is a ESG Policy Lead and responsible for engaging with and advising policymakers and regulators on key issues that ensure that global markets operate efficiently. Alexander joined in 2019, prior to which he was an Associate Director at a boutique firm that uses alternative financing to invest in sustainable projects in emerging markets. Before that, he spent five years at a multilateral development bank - the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) - negotiating investments in emerging markets with blended finance from international climate change funds and the European Commission. He has also spent time as an economic advisor for middle and low-income governments and helped establish a nuclear energy safeguards organisation. Alexander holds a BSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Southampton, and various postgraduate certificates from LSE, Birkbeck, Cambridge, and the Chartered Governance Institute.
